Orange Chicken - Brittany and Miranda
Ingredients:
3 T. vegetable oil
3 lbs. boneless chicken breasts, cut into strips
1 t. orange zest
1 t. ground ginger
1/2 t. onion powder
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. orange juice
1/3 c. soy sauce
Directions:
MARINADE: In a zipper bag, mix the soy sauce, orange juice, ginger, onion powder, and orange peel. Mix well.
Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and leave overnight in the refrigerator, or for at least 8 hours.
Preheat oven to 350ยบ. Strain chicken from the marinade (Do not discard the marinade). Coat the chicken with flour. In a large skillet, heat the oil and brown the chicken over medium high heat. Transfer to a 9 X 13 covered baking dish. Pour remaining marinade over chicken. Cover and bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Remove cover and bake for 15 minutes more. Let cool and serve over rice.
